Description

Visit us at Narnia, stay either upstairs with your own entrance(b&b), downstairs in the converted cottage or at the poolhouse(self-catering). Or self-cater in our lovely converted shed. Enjoy a swim in our salt-water pool with a view or fish for bass in our dam in the valley

The upstairs accommodation includes The Bright Room, which offers a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom (bath), or The Africa Room with its twin beds and screened-off bathroom. Both rooms offer colour TV and a balcony with a swinging seat and sweeping views of the Knysna Heads. There is a separate entrance from the main house and a sitting room with tea, coffee and an honesty drinks fridge to enjoy at your leisure. (b&b only - as there is no kitchen)

Fawn Cottage has one double and one twin bedroom, bathroom facilities (bath) and colour television. There is also a dining and sitting area, a kitchenette and a private garden. The cottage is shared only if guests are travelling together. Self-catering. Night-lit braai facility close by and table and chairs in the garden. Magnificent views of the heads, the lagoon and the mountains.

On 100 acres of land, 3kms from the town of Knysna, this stone and timber farmhouse offers an unforgettable experience.
At Narnia you have the choice of breakfasting in the award-winning gardens or the main dining room, self-catering in the cottage or the poolhouse. While your privacy is respected, you may wish to join fellow guests for sun downers or ask your hosts to arrange outings for you.
Four time winner of "Knysna Best Garden" and "Special Municipality Award". Annually on show to the public.

Accommodation

The Family Suite

The family suite upstairs comprises the Bright and Africa rooms - queen and twin beds respectively each en-suite with baths and connected by a sitting room with a drinks fridge, tea, coffee and hot chocolate and crockery and cutlery for takeout.

You can either book it as a family, a couple, or 2 singles. The Bright Room is most popular with honeymooners who will arrive to fresh flowers, champagne and chocolates or nougat. Each room has its own balcony with a swinging seat looking at the Heads and lagoon.

Children delight in the Africa Room with its bath and loo in the room and a wardrobe that opens onto the balcony (a builders mistake kept to honour the Narnia story!).

The Cottage

The cottage is the oldest unit (originally the farm shack) and takes up the bottom west wing of the house. Ideal for a family with small children as it has an enclosed garden but also popular with couples. 2 bedrooms - twin and double share a Victorian bath in a charming stone and blue glass bathroom.

The cosy equipped kitchen has an open fire which is wonderful in winter. Next to the lovely braai area.

The Poolhouse

The Poolhouse is separate from the house and overlooks the pool, river and mountains. It has one bedroom with a queen and a single bed, fully equipped kitchen, shower and foldout futon in the lounge. The dining table doubles as a pool table and there are tables on the stoep and below to enjoy breakfast or dinner.

Guests have the use of the stone braai at the main house or a barrel braai will be brought to the unit if you prefer to braai privately.

The Shed

The Shed is the biggest unit with a king en-suite with bath and a queen and single sharing a shower. Wonderful open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area with a brilliant working fireplace. The unit boasts the best lagoon view from the stone braai.

Across a field from the house, guests are free to stroll over and use the pool. Self-catering only.
