DescriptionBlackwaters River Lodge, situated outside Knysna in the Garden Route, offering Bed And Breakfast, Self Catering, family holidays, bird watching, river canoeing, golfing, swimming and relaxing. Hiking Trails, mountain biking, horse riding, whale watching, deep-sea charters, scenic drives, outdoor adventures and forest trails can be arranged for interested parties.INSIDE BLACKWATERS RIVER LODGEThe atmosphere is enticingly romantic and tranquil. Our guest lounge has a log fireplace and cosy private pub. We strive to provide a relaxed, friendly atmosphere to people who visit from all over the world, as well as many South Africans who return to us on a regular basis. Breakfast is a leisurely affair. Select from the buffet table or request an English breakfast from the kitchen.ACCOMMODATIONExecutive / Honeymoon SuiteThe Executive / Honeymoon suite is upstairs in the Lodge - beautiful appointed, with an extra length king - size bed. The suite offers air- conditioning, an intimate lounge area with a log fire- place. Full en-suite bathroom with a plunge bath, separate shower. The view from the spacious balcony encompasses the river valley and indigenous forests. Deluxe Suite The deluxe suite upstairs in the Lodge is generously proportioned , complete with beautiful antique furniture and cosy log fireplace, offering twin or king-size bed and full bathroom en-suite . A private balcony with views over the river valley and forests Family Rooms Family rooms, spacious standard twin rooms, and open plan studio apartments with kitchenettes. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and private verandas, tea and coffee making facilities, TV's with M-net, hair dryers and ceiling fans. Self-catering kitchenettes are equipped with microwaves, hotplates, mini fridge, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery and all linen. Rooms are serviced daily. OUTSIDE BLACKWATERS RIVER LODGEThe Lodge is set in 8 acres of manicured gardens with well established trees and bordered by the black waters of the Goukamma River. Tranquillity and a sense of peacefulness are personified by the abundant bird life found in and around the gardens. 30% of Garden Route birds have been identified at Blackwaters River Lodge.Blackwaters is able to offer their guests more activities on site than any other establishment in Knysna: canoeing on the river, mashie golf, swimming Pool, bird watching and picnic facilities at the Rivers edge. The on site mashie golf course has specifically been designed so as not to detract from the natural beauty of this most fertile valley. Our "19th hole" pub has become our social spot with guests of Blackwaters and golfers mingling in the evening. Braai baskets are available or arrange your own ... there are wonderful spots to enjoy the evening ... next to the river, outside your unit, at the golf lapa or the swimming pool. The mysterious black waters of the Goukamma River winds through the estate. Take a canoe and choose between a lazy paddle or a more strenuous trip down to the beach (+/- 12 kms). Buffels Bay beach, only 8 km's from Blackwaters River Lodge, is the areas best bathing beach. The long white beach is ideal for walking too. There are so many fantastic eating houses within a 12km radius, but for those who don't want to drive at night we can provide a "meal of the day" on request OR we can provide a shuttle service to and from the restaurant. DirectionsBetween Knysna and Sedgefield, in the lush green valley. At the Buffelsbay turnoff the N2, turn inland and there we are. Signs to Blackwaters River Lodge are on the road coming from both directions. |
